Gameplay Designer – DesignI’d like to describe myself as a Jack of all trades. Who needs a specialist when you can get a little bit of everything? One day I get to build cool levels and the next work with building fun gameplay experiences. I have an endless battle between describing myself as creative or technical, but why choose when you can have both?
My time in the industry has been fairly short with 2 years at Pieces Interactive where I was part of releasing the game Alone in the Dark before starting here at To the Sky. However, my interest in games started when I was a kid playing Lara Croft and Oddworld with my family.
As the indecisive person I am, I ended up studying music, programming, 2D art and UX design before finally landing in the design field where I’m comfortable. What I like about To the Sky is that being in a smaller studio gives me more influence over my work where I feel like I can be creative and create immersive experiences for our players. I also get to make closer connections with the people in my team.
Aside from work, I am a singer and guitarist in a band that I have with a few friends where we mostly play Radiohead and Wolf Alice covers. When I’m not jamming I do bouldering, dance salsa, make cute jewelry projects or prep for my next Vampire the Masquerade one shot.
